Does BuiltPOS work without internet?

Yes. BuiltPOS is offline-first. Every transaction is processed locally on your device using SQLite. When internet is available, data syncs automatically to PostgreSQL. You never lose a sale.

What hardware do I need?

Any Android phone/tablet, iPad, Windows PC, or Mac. No proprietary hardware required. For card payments, we support PAX, Ingenico, and Clover terminals. For receipts, any ESC/POS thermal printer (80mm or 58mm).

Can I use my own database server?

Yes. The Self-Hosted PostgreSQL module (free) lets you connect to your own PG server. Your data stays on your hardware. Zero cloud fees.

How does multi-terminal sync work?

Each terminal records stock changes as signed deltas (+5 received, -3 sold). These deltas sync over LAN via WebSocket. Because deltas are additive, there are no conflicts — even if terminals are offline for hours.

Can I migrate from my current POS?

If your current POS uses Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), BuiltPOS can import all your products, customers, invoices, and history automatically. The migration tool handles 18 tables with batch processing.

Is there a contract?

No contracts. Monthly plans can be cancelled anytime. The Perpetual plan is a one-time $999 payment with lifetime access — no recurring fees ever.
