1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using BuiltPOS services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

BuiltPOS provides point-of-sale software, backoffice management tools, REST APIs, and related services for retail businesses. The Service includes web applications, native applications (iOS, Android, Windows, macOS), and cloud infrastructure.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscription Plans & Billing

Free Plan: Limited features at no cost. No credit card required.
Paid Plans: Billed monthly or as a one-time perpetual purchase. Prices are listed at site.builtpos.com/pricing.
Cancellation: Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. No refunds for partial months.
Perpetual License: One-time payment grants lifetime access to the purchased tier. No recurring charges.

5. API Access

API access requires approval from a BuiltPOS provider administrator. API keys are non-transferable. You must not exceed published rate limits (5,000 requests/minute). Abuse of API access may result in immediate termination.

6. Data Ownership

You retain ownership of all data you enter into the Service. BuiltPOS does not sell, share, or mine your business data. Self-hosted database users maintain full control of their data at all times.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal activity
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
Transmit malicious code or attempt SQL injection
Resell or redistribute the Service without written permission
Exceed published rate limits or abuse system resources

8. Service Availability

BuiltPOS provides the Service on an "as-is" basis. While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The offline-first architecture ensures your POS terminal operates independently of cloud availability.

9. Limitation of Liability

BuiltPOS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your data will be available for export for 30 days.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
